I bought this plant from Stephan Ryan’s fantastic Macedon nursery in the late 80s, I wouldn’t be with out it. Pablin is one of the smallest lilacs generally growing a little over a metre and is not a spreader. The pink flowers have perfume to rival any other lilac and its dry and heat tolerant. As with most lilac species it should be cut back by one third after flowering.
When buying this plant it is important to understand that is is small and a little slow to develop so the plants I sell may appear small but are 2 years from cuttings
