Sedum is a huge genus covering a wide range of climatic conditions. Gardeners often see the name Sedum and associate it with arid conditions. Spathulifolium comes from the lowlands of the Pacific north west USA.and Canada meaning it likes a temperate climate and some moisture. I find the stonecrop shrinks a bit during the summer dry then starts growing again with the Autumn rains. In winter the foliage colour changes from silver to rich purple reds. In spring it retains the red foliage and gets covered in yellow flowers.
This plant will grow in sun or light shade, it is perfect for filling spaces in dry store walling
