One of the so called blue Rhododendrons which is wishful thinking for nurserymen. They are all in fact a deep rich purple maybe with blue overtones.
Regardless of colour these are beautiful spring flowering shrubs. They are very slow growing and will require irrigation for at least their first 4 summers.

Florence mann is an augustinii hybrid. Its flowers are a darker more intense shade of purple/blue with small pointed dark green foliage. This selection has a lower growing more dense habit.
After many years it will grow to around 1.8m with a similar spread.
This plant can only be grown in cool climate hills gardens
