There are a whole host of Primula vulgaris hybrids and most of them are good garden plants, this one is not exception. I have had this one for at least 15 years. It reliably surfaces in late Autumn and starts flowering late winter continuing through most of spring.
Like most Primula it is a woodland perennial so needs humus rich soil in deciduous shade. All the Primula vulgaris group are summer dormant so at that time they shrink down to rhizomes surfacing with late Autumn rain.
