Pinellia cordata

The genus Pinellia contains some thugs but this is not one of them. A very small Aroid growing to only 10cm with beautifully marked leaves and curious flowers typical to this family. It surfaces in mid spring and is winter dormant. P. cordata is equally happy in the garden or a pot. I grow it in a pot as its a small plant with tiny tubers and is easily swamped by larger neighbours in the garden. I have had no issues with rot during its winter dormancy.
