Hydrangea quercifolia var. alice

Alice is the giant of this group of useful Hydrangea.

The quercifolia group are more useful for warmer climate gardens than the macrophyllas which tend to collapse on hot days. They come in a range of sizes and growth habits. These shrubs need a good dose of morning sun to flower prolifically and here in Olinda they can take blazing afternoon sun for a short period. Their foliage is beautiful and given enough sun will colour dark red in Autumn.
