Hydrangea macrophylla nigra

This is the black stemmed Hydrangea. The flower colour here is a soft violet in other soil types it may be soft pink. Not a big grower and its important to remove the old canes as the black colour only shows on new wood. Beautiful underplanted with Galanthus elwesii.
