Geranium phaeum and its cultivars are one of the best groups for Australian gardens. I have seen them listed as dry shade plants but I do not think this is applicable for our gardens. I grow them in a very lightly or dappled shade position, give them a couple of long watering in very dry weather and cut them to the ground in late November early December.

This cultivar has done very well in my garden, it is growing in a north west facing position in dappled light. The foliage is marked as with the species but its flowers are very much as the name suggests. Height at flowering time would be around 40cm.
