Arum sintenisii

I am a great fan of the Arums. There are some shocking weeds in the genus making many gardeners nervous about planting them. All the Arum species I sell have been in my garden many years and are very safe here in Olinda.

I grow the Arums mainly for their winter foliage which is very welcome at a time when many plants are dormant. Their summer dormancy makes this genus ideal in south eastern Australia.

Plant these tubers in deciduous shade and settle in for the wait. Arums are very slow to develop big clumps.

Sintenisii surfaces in late Autumn with large arrow shapes leaves. It slowly makes large clumps. The flowers are a solid colour, purple brown and appear late winter early spring. By summer the whole clump has disappeared.
