Anemone nemorosa var. robinsoniana

There are many Anemone nemorosa cultivars and they all behave much the same manner. These are spring ephemerals meaning they surface in late winter, flower in spring then go down until the next year. deciduous shade is the natural home for these plants but I also grow them in full sun but beneath a very thick layer of mulch. Given these conditions they flower very heavily. Like most rhizomatous woodland perennials they like to run beneath a thick layer of mulch

Robinsoniana is a really beautiful selection with the lovely soft blue flowers that blend really well into the spring garden which is so often dominated by yellow and pink.
